Two weeks ago, I was given the best gift of life. My baby boy, Viraaj Shah was born and made me into the proudest, happiest and most blessed mom. I am biased but I think my boy is the most adorable baby ever! I can stare at him all day and night and it’s still not enough! It still feels so unreal that I carried Viraaj for 9 months and now he finally is in my arms. I’m so thankful to my husband who has been taking picture after picture of him so we can capture every moment, expression, and change in our little boy. Viraaj smiles at us often and today we caught him giving us the most adorable little laugh. He sleeps 2-3 hours in a row during the day but is such a caring son and lets me and Maanit sleep in stretches of 3-4 hours at night. He truly has filled my life with so much love that I never knew I had.
Although I am the happiest mom out there, I’m not going to lie, the first two weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions and an adjustment in our lifestyle. Nonetheless, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Any moment I feel concerned about him, my heart sinks and I go into crazy concerned mom mode. Viraaj truly is my life, my breath, and every part of me and I only hope I can raise him into a wonderful man!
To help me through these first two weeks, I have to give huge props to my parent In-laws who drove all the way from Toronto the moment they found out I was having a C-section and came to support me through it. I wouldn’t have been able to handle my newborn, household duties and take care of myself without their support. I’m so thankful for their love and support these past two weeks. I’m also excited and looking forward to having my mom, brother and his girlfriend around for some time as well. In these moments, I miss my dad even more and wish he could have been around to meet his grandson, but I will make sure Viraaj gets to know his grandpa through pictures, stories, and much more.
With the craziness of these first two weeks, we finally found time to take some professional pictures of Viraaj. For now, enjoy this photo of our sweetheart and hopefully soon, we will have some more pictures of him and our little family.
Well, 37 weeks has arrived and at any point now, my little prince can arrive. Oh, how eager I am to meet him and hold him in my arms. My other two fur babies love sitting on my belly and feeling their brother kick and move. My sweet little family is so excited to welcome you baby boy! In the mean time, my husband has captured some shots of me and our little one in Banff, our favourite place to visit in Canada. Enjoy some of his work!
Yesterday marked our 2nd year Anniversary and the craziest yet most awesome thing happened. We adopted the two most adorable little kittens and turned our family which was supposed to be a family of 3 into a family of 5. We couldn’t be happier and have celebrated this anniversary any other way. Now, we wait eagerly for our baby boy to come sometime in the next 3 weeks or so!! Oh the joys of life. My heart is so happy and content – a feeling indescribable! I’m a mom already and this is the best feeling in the world!
So, meet our little babies. Our boy Twix, named after my husbands favourite chocolate bar and his sister, our little girl has been named Sushi after my favourite food item. These two munchkins have filled our hearts with so much love, joy, and excitement.
Twix, the dark grey black kitten is such a poser and loves to model for us. Sushi, the light grey white kitten is still quite timid and has not opened up as much as her brother. I’m sure in a few weeks, she will also start posing like her brother and give us some stunning shots. They both enjoy sleeping with us whether its on the bed or on the couch and have already tested out our baby boy’s halo bassinet! These two kiddies of ours are full of life, adorable, and love playing with each other.
Enjoy some of their pictures my husband took of them today.
